UNION of the CHAMBERS of CYPRUS
TURKISH
ENGINEERS and ARCHITECTS (UCCTEA)
The union is a professional organization wich officially established as "The Association of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architect" at the general assembley held on December 3, 1960.
At the general assembly held on April 5, 1970, the name changed to be "Union of the Chambers of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects" (UCCTEA).
Since the enactment of "The Establishment Law of Union of the Chambers of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects" in 1976, the Union and the Chambers have been given legal rights and responsibilities for implementation of related professional activities. Besides the professional activities and issues, the Union has special concern about economic, social and cultural problems and issues of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Each professional Chamber has an executive committee of five membeers elected for one year term, and is autonomous in its decisions for professional activities.
The members of the executive
committee of the Union are:
The president, the secretary and the treasurer who are elected
at the general assembly of the Union for one year term and the Presidents of
the Chambers.
The Executive Committee of the Union mainly deals with the common professional issues and has the right to jointly represent the Chambers.
